Message from the Headteacher

Welcome back. I hope you all had a lovely Easter holiday and Eid Mubarak to those who were celebrating Eid during our time off. Moving in to our final term, it has been pleasing to see how well your children have settled back in to school life. We all know it’s not easy coming back after a break, but they have all worked extremely hard this week.

Thank you to those parent who attended our first day of parents evening. Your support is vital and we are grateful to you for taking time out of your day to find our about how child is getting on.

Good luck to our Year 6 children with their upcoming SATs, we know you will all do amazing as you have worked so hard during your time at our school.

Summer Term is always a packed agenda, so please make note of the dates below. We look forward to seeing you at some of our events.

Building Work

Thanks to the support from Lingfield Education Trust, we have been successful in securing funds to move the school office so that it is easier for parents and visitors to access our office staff without having to cross the playground. Work will start on Wednesday 24th April and should take around 3 weeks.

PD Days

Just a reminder of the PD Days that are remaining for this year:

  • Monday 17th June – Eid

Holiday Forms

We understand that for many of our families, filling out forms, such as a holiday forms, can be difficult if English is not your first language. We have therefore designed an online system that will allow you to type in your own language and then we will translate your information and put it on a form for you to sign. We hope this will make it easier for some of you to give us the details needed as to why you need to take your child out of school.

Wraparound Care

Thank you to those who have already been accessing our wraparound care. We have had good feedback so far with the children taking part in lots of fun activities – many of these can be seen on our Facebook page! If you would like your child/children to attend wraparound care, please speak to the office. Sessions are £5 per day, per child and run from 3.15 – 5.00. Please note we are now using SchoolComms for payment.

Attendance

If your child is off for any reason, you must telephone the office to let us know. If a child is ill through sickness and/or diarrhoea then they must stay off for 48 hours from the last time the child was sick. Research shows that good attendance is linked with higher achievement. If a child is off then it can have a serious impact on their education and at Corporation Road, we want all children to have the best possible start to their school career.
