Art
At Corporation Road we aim to teach Art and Design in a fun and creative way. Our aspiration is to ensure that children are engaged, inspired and challenged throughout each topic. We believe that art stimulates creativity, imagination and inventiveness. We plan a range of integrated experiences carefully planned to fit in with our topics. Art and Design provides the children with the opportunities to develop and extend skills and gives an opportunity to express their individual interests, thoughts and ideas.
Our Intent
- At Corporation Road Community Primary School, we want children to have an appreciation of different artist and for children to be able to talk about a range of artists and their work.
- We want children to recognise some works of art, name the artist and give some background information.
- Children to practise all relevant skills, understand the topic vocabulary and create their own pieces of art.
- To be confident to describe and evaluate the skills and techniques they’ve used to create their own pieces.
- We use artists to enrich the art curriculum and show that it is a viable career.
