William Shakespeare’s Family 

William Shakespeare is thought to have been born on 23rd April, 1564 in Stratford- upon-Avon, England. William was the third child of John and Mary Shakespeare. 

Fascinating Facts 

• At the age of 18, William married Anne Hathaway. 

Shakespeare’s Plays 

Shakespeare’s words. 

He made up over 300 words and phrases that are now used in the English language. These include: 

William Shakespeare died on April 23rd 1616, which was the same day as his birthday, at the age of 52.

Relative Clauses

Make two sentences become one by changing the pronoun in the second sentence into a relative pronoun and joining the two together (remember to add a comma before the relative pronoun). For example: 

Mr Mayes was my teacher. He taught me in Year 5.

Mr Mayes was my teacher, who taught me in Year 5.
