Every Friday between 1:30pm and 3pm we have a 'Stay and Play' session for 2 and 3 year olds and their parents/carers. It is FREE! Everyone is welcome, including families not currently at school. We look forward to seeing you!

Year 5

In Year 5 this year we will be learning about lots of fun and interesting topics. Starting with Ancient Egypt, we will then blast off into outer space for Stargazers after Christmas. We will then return to Earth to find out about Henry VIII and the Tudors before Easter. During the summer term, we will learn about animals in Beast Creator before finishing the year outside in our Allotment topic.
Alongside this we will read some engaging and challenging books. For example, we will be setting sail and reading the classic Treasure Island. We will also read Kensuke’s Kingdom by the brilliant author, Michael Morpurgo. If you would like to find out more about any of the books we will be using in class please come and ask.

We are working hard in school to improve all children’s reading ability and reading at home will contribute to this. Spellings and other homework is given out on a Tuesday, so please remind the children to practise their spellings each week.

As always, thank you for your continued support and if you have any concerns or questions please don’t hesitate to come and have a chat.
