Year 4

In Year 4, our topic this term is ‘Misty Mountain Sierra’. It is a geography based topic which develops children’s knowledge of mountains within Europe and the rest of the world. They have also learned how to use an atlas to locate mountains in continents and countries. Awe and Wonder Fridays will continue to incorporate the topic in many wonderful ways!

Year 4 have two new and exciting books to read this term! Class 13 are reading ‘Vicky Angel’ by Jaqueline Wilson and Class 12 are reading ‘A Boy Called Hope’ by Lara Williamson. Our writing and reading will be inspired by our class books and children are really enjoying the books so far!

In maths, we will be learning about fractions, place value and addition and subtraction methods. It is important that your child continues to learn their multiplication and division facts up to 12 x 12 as this will help them in every area of maths.
