Year 2

In Year 2 last term we worked very hard to improve our understanding of number, shape and calculations. In English we thoroughly enjoyed using both The Nativity and The Snowman to write diaries, letters and instructions. In PE the children learnt how to mount, dismount and use gymnastics equipment. On our Awe and Wonder Mondays the children learnt about the human body, the importance of light for Christians at Christmas and made their own coat of arms. We also celebrated the first snow of the year, we spent an afternoon making a Christmas decoration for the school tree and drank hot chocolate.

This half term our Awe and Wonder Mondays will be based around the topic ‘Street Detectives’, we have some fun days planned including a walk around the local environment identifying how buildings have changed over time; making signs in Art; improving the environment in PSHE and dancing in PE.
