This term in Reception we are learning about the topic Adventures. We started the term off by reading a wonderful story called The Shopping Expedition, in Literacy. The children love stories and enjoyed writing shopping lists like the character in the story. The story led us into another adventure about Cold Places. We are learning about the Artic and the Antarctic regions and are finding fun facts about the animals, like penguins and polar bears.

Later on in the term, we are learning about hot places and will investigate jungle animals. We are going to compare a hot place to where we live-Darlington. Following on, we are going to learn about the sea. We will think about sea creatures and investigate water.

Please continue to read at home with your child, practise their high frequency word cards and practise the letter formation for each letter of the alphabet.

Your continued support is invaluable to your child’s progress and much appreciated.
